Director of Operations
Ruth Hare
Ruth has been involved in the community in various capacities over the last 25 years. Doing everything from coaching youth soccer, to leading the Parent Advisory Council, she has given her time and energy to people and their families. Ruth loves making a difference. With her background in child and family counselling, she brings experience, skill and a heart to help others. Being able to connect available volunteers with people in need of help brings her much joy. She sees how facilitating this connection has the power to transform their lives, bringing hope and providing tangible acts of love.

Field Coordinator
Becky Metz
Becky brings a rare and meaningful blend of ministry and healthcare experience to our team. With strong administrative skills and a genuine compassion for people in need, she is both capable and caring in her approach. Becky has a gift for walking alongside individuals who feel isolated, offering empathy, support, and encouragement when it’s needed most. She’s equally passionate about empowering volunteers, helping them find meaningful ways to connect and make a difference. Growing up on a Saskatchewan farm, Becky learned the value of hard work, resilience, and community early in life. Outside of work, she loves spending time with her two children and staying closely connected to family and friends. Becky is a dedicated part of our team, continually helping to strengthen and support our community.

Field Coordinator
Pam Watland

She has experience in cardiology, orthopedic, neurologic and vascular surgical nursing, as well as experience in an addiction treatment clinic and a methadone program. Pam’s passion is to assist individuals in finding a healthy balance in their lives, physically, mentally, emotionally, relationally and spiritually. Healthy people create healthy communities and by training and encouraging volunteers to support clients, whose needs are diverse, she sees that passion fulfilled.

Office Administrator
Michelle Neilson
Michelle feels that this opportunity is a wonderful fit—not just for her skills, but also for her heart. Having walked through seasons where practical help and kindness made all the difference, she sees this role as a meaningful way to give back what’s been given to her. What drew her to Hands in Service was how closely the heart behind the work aligns with her own values. Michelle believes deeply in the importance of showing up for others with compassion and presence. Being part of a team that lives out these values every day means a great deal to her, and she is grateful for the chance to contribute in a way that reflects both her experience and her heart.
