On June 15th Hands in Service and many participants, including some of our long term clients, gathered at the Dolphins on Water Street for our second annual Walk & Roll . Thanks to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 26, Bethel Church, Evangel Church, and Interior Health for assistance with aids, participants walked or rolled using equipment to experience an aspect of life for our community members facing health and mobility challenges. Refreshment and gifts were provided to participants because of the gracious sponsorship of BC Tree Fruit Market, Capri Bowling, Mavazi Apparel, and Wendy’s. Teams and individuals raised funds more than $3300 for Hands in Service with one team achieving a level of almost $2000.

We are pleased to have the opportunity to raise awareness for Hands in Service who provide free, compassionate and relational, non-medical home care, referral services, and food security assistance. Individuals, groups, businesses, and churches work with vulnerable clients struggling with disability, financial, and social limitations. These community members are rarely seen on the street and you will seldom hear about their struggles. it is our privilege to “Walk & Roll” with and for them.
